Born Zainab Agoro in Chicago, Illinois to Nigerian parents, Zaina spent her early years in the United States. In her relatively short musical career, she has shot three music videos, received two nominations from the NEA awards. Not bad for a starter.
Zaina who has had the opportunity to work with the likes of eLDee, Banky W, Styl Plus, Lynxx, Sauce Kid, Sasha and others plans to release her debut album this year. There are also talks of a collaboration with Jamaican-reggae fusion artiste Wanye Wonder.
On her latest single ‘Carry me go’ produced by Del B, Zaina sings softly and then ups her tempo just at the right time. The hard knocking drum sounds set it up for a club tune. Zaina’s voice shares a remarkable similarity with fellow R&B singer Tiwa Savage.
