Big Stars Shun PAM Awards Launch

Irene Campbell, Phian Mugerwa and Coco Finger
It is that time of the year again when PAM Awards gets in gear. On Wednesday, Isaac Mulindwa and company launched this year's edition of the awards at Centenary based Club Le' Beaujolais.
The event kicked off as early as 6:00pm with a cocktail party as Chairman organizing committee briefed the guests who included journalists, musicians and the usual suspects-city socialites, about the agenda of this year's event.
Peculiar though was the absence of big names in the industry. Save for Juliana Kanyomozi, the likes of Jose Chameleone, Bobi Wine, Radio & Weasel, Bebe Cool were not present though they received invitations.
You will remember that these same artistes snubbed the PAM Awards ceremony last year. Their absense, however gave the likes of sex oozing Sheeba Karungi, Toolman Kibalama, Lugaflow sensation Mun G, Gift of Kaddo and Leila Kyondo a chance to shine.
By 9:00pm the launch was over as guests started to get to 'know'each other. The main awarding event which is sponsored by Red Pepper, among others, is slated for 5th November 2011 at UMA Hall, Lugogo.
