She is a Ugandan afro-pop singer and songwriter. Her stage name is Cindy but her real name is Cinderella Sanyu. She was formerly with the all singing group Blu*3 but left under controversial circumstances. Currently, this babe is expecting her first born with her Spanish fiancé Mario.

1. Cinderella Sanyu Muyonjo was born on August 28th 1985 in Kampala. She a height of 5’7″ and claimed to fame in 2009 because of her hit, Ayokyayokya.

2. Her debut solo album ‘Ayokyayokya’(2009) is still topping charts all over East Africa with hits like ‘Mbikooye’ and ‘Nawewe’ (2008), Ayokyayokya(2009) and now One and Only (2010).

3. Cindy has won three national awards for her solo work and other three awards as a member of BLU*3.
4. As a young girl, she never got a chance to sing in her school choir because she was ‘tiny’ so her musical talent was nurtured in church and at home by the mother.

5. She started professional music career with Blu*3 which is now Blu3. It was an all-girl band that was formed by the three winners of Coca Cola pop stars Uganda in 2005 and managed by Steve Jean who is acknowledged as a strong force in Cindy’s life to date. The members of that group were; Cinderella Sanyu, Lillian Mbabazi and Jackie Chandiru.

6. When she was still in Blu*3, it went on to become Africa’s biggest female group and toured Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi, Nigeria, South Africa and Ghana. Due to a misunderstanding Cindy had to leave the group in 2008 and ready or not she embarked on a solo career.

7. In 2008, this babe appeared on the list of artistes to watch in 2009 during the PAM awards. In 2009 she won the award for female artiste of the year in the DIVA awards and last year Cindy won the Teeniez’ dancehall artiste and best female artiste of the year.

8. In 2008, the first year of her solo career, Cindy released her debut single ‘Mbikooye’ which got lots of airplay all over East Africa and also on Channel O. She went on to release other singles like ‘Nawewe’ and ‘Outta My Mind’ which did well on the charts too but the song that gave her that extra push as she calls it was ‘U and Me’ featuring P Square. The Nigerian boys were opening for Akon when she met them.
Her publicist at that time managed to slip her music cd into their hands and they loved it so when she asked them to work with them, they agreed. ‘U and Me’ was a massive hit all over East Africa and on YouTube.

9. In 2008, Cindy did promotional tours in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, DR Congo and Burundi where she also represented Uganda in the Miss Tourism Africa beauty pageant. She has also toured UK, Sweden, Denmark, Dubai and Sudan.

10. She is engaged to a Spanish barber Mario with whom the two are expecting their first child although they had separated for some time last year.  Her latest release ‘Mungu Bwasalawo’ is the best video ever done in East Africa. Cindy has previously done collaborations with P- Square, Juliana Kanyomozi, Rabadaba, Fidempa, The Ben (Rwanda) and J2 Guys (Sudan).
